betsy’s a complicated issue, especially when it comes to the whole living-in-kwannon’s-body-and-being-a-ninja thing. i personally hc her as half-japanese, half-white, and i think there are others who hc that too because otherwise the “ ninja ” stuff is just weird and racist, like logan’s whole “ ronin ” nonsense ( which is a whole ‘nother can of worms to crack open ).

and since marvel seems to be sticking to their guns on the whole “ betts is white again haha ” ( which i’m ignoring because it’s a bunch of bs ), it gets even more iffy. i really love betsy’s character, and when i write her in fics and such, i don’t abide by canon’s weird racism when it comes to her ethnicity.

marvel has a bad history with this kinda thing ( see: logan, elektra, betts, danny, etc. ) and they could do a lot better.

tl;dr - i have very mixed feelings about how betts is handled most of the time, but i still love her as a character
